Are you ready to take your passion for bouldering to the next level?

Are you ready to take your passion for bouldering to the next level? At Chimera Climbing, we’re proud to be an official Mountain Training provider, delivering the Bouldering Wall Instructor (BWI) award at our centres in Tunbridge Wells and Chatham, Kent.

This nationally recognised qualification is the first step for anyone who wants to instruct indoor bouldering safely and confidently — whether you’re working with youth groups, coaching in climbing walls, or starting a career in the outdoor industry.

What Is the Mountain Training Bouldering Wall Instructor Award?

The Bouldering Wall Instructor (BWI) qualification is designed for experienced boulderers who want to learn how to run safe, engaging, and effective bouldering sessions indoors.

As a qualified BWI, you’ll be able to:

  • Teach core movement skills and bouldering techniques
  • Manage groups safely in a climbing wall environment
  • Support and inspire new climbers in their first steps on the wall

This award focuses on indoor and artificial bouldering walls and does not cover roped climbing or outdoor natural rock (these are covered in the Rock Climbing Instructor award).
